As a seasoned dietitian, I have guided countless clients to optimal health through diet and lifestyle change.

Mission

I provide personalized, non-judgmental nutrition care in a safe and supportive environment. Many of my clients lament that their health care visits are brief and leave them feeling frustrated and unheard. My practice strives to reverse this trend. Visits with me are never rushed. I develop strong working relationships with my clients as we collaborate on realistic goals for optimal health and nutrition.

PHILOSOPHY

There is no "one size fits all" dietary approach. I work with a wide variety of diets from vegan to low carbohydrate. I match the eating plan to you based on your medical conditions and food preferences. I advocate balanced, nutrient-dense eating plans that include foods you enjoy. I help clients foster a positive relationship with food and discover which eating style works best for their body.

specialties

I specialize in a variety of gastrointestinal conditions including celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). I also frequently counsel individuals with autoimmune conditions such as Hashimoto’s disease.

I am a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). This certification requires extensive training, continuing education, and successful passing of an examination on all aspects of diabetes care. I frequently work with clients with pre-diabetes and Type 2 Diabetes.

I often advise people facing metabolic issues including overweight, obesity, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. Diet and physical activity are the core interventions for treating these conditions.

the Dietitian - Leslie Gaillard

Leslie Gaillard, MPH RD LDN CDE

I am a registered dietitian (RD), licensed dietitian/nutritionist (LDN) in North Carolina, and a certified diabetes care and education specialist (CDCES). I am a second career dietitian who has never looked back. I chose nutrition as my career because I am inspired by our bodies’ ability to heal itself when given the right fuel. Read about my own health story. Nutrition is not just my job; it's my passion.

In my spare time, you can find me in the kitchen cooking up a new recipe, spending time with my family, reading, gardening, meditating, or outside soaking up some sunshine.

I’m a “non-diet” dietitian who enjoys helping my clients recognize the eating plan that works best for them. The foods you will always find in my kitchen include berries, greens, beans, avocados, quinoa, and something chocolate. Check out my recipes for some of my favorite meal ideas that are both delicious and nutritious.

Leslie is fantastic! She is super thoughtful and low pressure. I was nervous at first to try a nutritionist, but even from my first email question Leslie was so kind. She is very fast to respond, is flexible, and cares about your success and you as a whole person. I love that she isn’t pushing any agenda, but genuinely wants to help you succeed the way that you are looking for. And if you have questions, she will have answers – she is a wealth of knowledge. I recommend her to everyone I know.

Not all dietitians are created equal. I was interested in improving the diet of my son, and it proved difficult to find someone who could really help set us up for success. Leslie provided just what I was seeking. I left the first appointment with a clear cut and realistic plan to improve breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. I felt comfortable with her recommendations right from the start and would recommend Leslie to anyone who wants actionable advice from a pro.
